What is PVRI?
Prairie Vascular Research Inc is a non-profit charitable organization aimed at promoting research in Canada with a special focus on prairies population. Its mandate is to promote research both in terms of recruiting patients from the prairies in international trials and facilitating investigator-initiated trials aimed at answering questions pertinent to the prairies. It also provides a structure for trainees to develop skills and relationships with mentors so that they can start their journey in medical research.
What is your intention with the research?
Aim of all research is sublimation of clinical frustrations. What is the most feasible approach to a problem? What is the most cost effect approach to a problem? How does geographic isolation effect access to care and what can we do to improve it? How does a finding effect policy in health implementation? Ultimately, it is the patients we are trying to serve: We attempt to engage the patients in formulating and prioritizing the research question(s) and in implementing knowledge translation plan.
